Octavio Trejo-Flores

Octavio Trejo-Flores - Scholastic

Background: Octavio grew up in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. Tavo, as his relatives and friends call him, served as a lay missionary with Misioneros Servidores de la Palabra in his country. After a period of vocational discernment, which spanned a few years, he traveled to the U.S. to be a candidate with another religious community before finding his way to the Salvatorians. He began his undergraduate studies at St. Xavier University in Chicago. He continues to study philosophy and religious studies at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee and hopes to earn his degree within a year. Feeling God’s call at the age of 18, Tavo said, “While working as a missionary, I realized that people were searching for spiritual leaders who could give testimony that Jesus Christ was among them.”

Why the Salvatorians: Octavio had met Salvatorian Fr. Raul Gomez Ruiz, SDS, several years ago and became interested in the life and mission of the Salvatorian priests.

Hobbies: He loves to jog, go to movies and spend time with friends.

Favorite Dessert: Arroz con leche, which is a rice pudding dish.
